HUNGER AWARENESS MONTH SERVICE OPPORTUNITY

WE NEED YOUR HELP EXPLORERS!!

End 68 Hours of Hunger is a program that seeks to address food insecurity for school aged children during the 68 hours over the weekend between school meals. 

 

A local branch, less than 10 minutes from our school, is fully serviced by volunteers who collect, sort, shelve, pack, and deliver food every week to local schools throughout the school year.

FUN FACT: Gulf Coast Sourdogh, owned and operated by a MacFarlane Park Family, is in every donated bag of food!!

 

WAYS YOU CAN JOIN IN THIS SERVICE OPPORTUNITY FROM HOME OR AT SCHOOL:

  • RESEARCH "hunger insecurity" and find out what it is and how many kids are affected by it in our community.  Present your findings in a PowerPoint, poster, short presentation or report to your family or class.
  • CREATE an email to send to friends and family to sharing information about End 68 Hours of Hunger
  • DONATE CANNED FRUITS and VEGGIES (or pouches) and SQUEEZABLE JELLY.  Bins will be outside during drop off on Thursday, September 24th and Friday, September 25th to turn in your donations.  Simply place the items in the bin on your way to class!
