After School Clubs

Hi MacFarlane Parents,

 

We are excited to be restarting our club program again complete with both virtual and in-person classes!  Our next session will run from January 19-March 26, 2021.  For those new to our school, each club is held once a week immediately following the school day for the duration of the quarter.  The club calendar follows the Hillsborough County School District calendar.  The following are some important notes, but please see below for further details.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING REGISTRATION!

  • On January 6 at 10:00 AM, club enrollment will open here:   https://www.homeroom.com/sites/macfarlane-park-elementary-school-tampa.  In advance of enrollment opening, feel free to create a profile and view the schedule. Please note, classes are still being added to the schedule and may not reflect the complete offerings until registration day. 

  • The enrollment will have a hard close on January 15th to allow for any club cancellations and organize the club rosters.

  • When you add your student’s information into your profile, please document in the “NOTES” field any additional adults that you authorize to pick up your child.  Students will only be released to individuals listed in Homeroom, so please take the time to document those individuals.

  • MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL CLUB STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.

Winter 2020 After School Clubs

  January 19, 2021 – March 26, 2021



TIME: Clubs will run from 2:00-3:00PM on Early Release Mondays.  Clubs will run from 3:00-4:00PM on Tuesdays-Fridays and on any NON-Early Release Mondays.  All clubs will run according to the school/district schedule.

REGISTRATION: Registration for this session will open on January 6, 2021 at 10:00AM. Please make every effort to sign up during the enrollment period. The enrollment will have a hard close on January 15th to allow for any club cancellations and organize the club rosters. 

Virtual Club: Options are labelled as such in the title of the course.  All other options are in-person clubs at our school.  All options, both virtual and in-person, are open to any student at our school.  If you are signed up for a virtual club, you will receive information directly from the club teacher before the start of the session on how to connect with them via zoom.

Note: When you register your child for a club, please document any adults that you authorize to pick up your child.  You may put this information in the notes section of your Homeroom profile.  Students will only be released to individuals listed in Homeroom, so please take the time to document those individuals.

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS: Once a club reaches maximum capacity, you will be put on a waiting list.  You will be notified in the event an opening occurs.  

PAYMENT: All fees must be paid through the Homeroom website, unless otherwise indicated.  Please contact [email protected] if this presents a problem for you.

PICKUP PROCEDURES: Clubs end at 4:00 PM on regular release days and 3:00 PM on Early Release Mondays.**  If your child is enrolled in HOST, they will be escorted to the HOST program.  Otherwise, club teachers will dismiss students on the covered courts or through the side door of the teacher parking lot.  Please wait for your child at this location outside the building.  Please do not go to the main door/front desk to pick up your child.  In the event of rain or severe weather, please form a carline in the teacher parking lot, by turning right when you pull into the lot.  When you reach the side door, staff will assist your child out of the building to your car.

CLUB CANCELLATION: Each club has a minimum number of students they require to be registered in order to hold that club.  If this number is not met, the instructing teacher has the final decision to continue or cancel.  Should cancellation occur, we will notify you promptly so that you may choose another club or make other arrangements for your child.

PTA MEMBERSHIP: After school clubs are run by the MacFarlane Park PTA.  Please support us by becoming a member!  You can sign your family up at HERE

**LATE PICKUP: Please be on time with student pickup.  Vendors are unable to stay past student pickup time as they have other obligations following our clubs.  The vendor may charge a late fee charge of $10 after the first 10 minutes and $1 per minute after that.  If a child has been picked up more than 10 minutes late 3 times within a session, that child will not be allowed to register for clubs the next session.
